About the programme

We are looking for graduates with strong interpersonal skills, who are eager to learn and broaden their knowledge and expertise.

You have a Bachelor, Master or PhD degree with up to 3 years professional experience we invite you to apply to our graduates swissre programme 2023.

The programme offers you the chance to join the dynamic, fast-moving world of a leading risk knowledge organisation. Over an 18-month period, you’ll receive on- and off-the-job training, including a job rotation that gives you the opportunity to work across different business units.

About the role

We are looking for a highly motivated re / insurance business analyst to be part of our team and assist us in driving strategy and steering of Swiss Re's underwriting portfolio!

The role entails identifying market and portfolio trends that impact our underwriting results as well as managing accumulation to keep exposure within Swiss Re's risk appetite.

You will work on a wide variety of underwriting-related projects cutting across all Swiss Re's business units and lines of business, and you will perform portfolio-level analyses to support senior management decision making.

In this role, you will :

  • Contribute and take a data-led, forward-looking view of the re / insurance market
  • Assess the impact of trends and strategic options on the Swiss Re underwriting portfolio
  • Collaborate with diverse colleagues in the Swiss Re Institute, Underwriting functions, Finance, Risk management, and other teams
  • About the team

    We are a highly collaborative, committed and diverse team with more than 20 members across Zurich, Munich, Bangalore, and Bratislava, hosted in Group Portfolio Underwriting, a department mandated to shape Swiss Re's underwriting capital allocation and steer the business to reach Swiss Re's targets.

    About you

  • Successfully completed university degree in data science, computer science, engineering, econometrics or related field
  • Strong curiosity about insurance / reinsurance
  • Open mind, curious approach to challenges, fast learner
  • Self-starter with strong analytical skills and passion to work with data
  • Attention to detail while not losing track of the bigger picture
  • Team-player, willingness to contribute actively to the overall team spirit
  • Thrive by working in a global and multicultural environment
  • Ability to express thoughts clearly, also in front of a senior audience
  • Understanding that our environment is dynamic and ability to easily adapt to change
  • Excellent oral and written English skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
