Responsible for driving the go-to-market strategy related to solutions comprised of Ciena’s and our partners’ routing, switching, optical, software, services, and other products and technologies.
This includes implementing market penetration and expansion strategies, strategic partnerships, and external communications related to the marketing of solutions.
Stimulate and support productive partnerships to grow Ciena’s footprint across various verticals and application spaces.
The individual must provide strategic and tactical leadership as an active advocate promoting the value of comprehensive solutions, both internally and externally.
This requires building and maintaining a strong liaison with Sales, Product Line Management, R&D, and the broader Marketing organization.
Support the development and implementation of Ciena’s go-to-market strategy to help grow market share globally by developing comprehensive solutions comprised of Ciena’s and our partners’ portfolios
Execute strategy by building strong cross-functional relationships across the organization
Present solution value propositions to customers, prospects, and Ciena’s partners on a global basis
Collaborate and formulate strategies to foster engagement with customers and partners ultimately leading to growth in mindshare and demand for comprehensive cross-portfolio solutions
Communicate market intelligence and competitive positioning of cross-portfolio solutions
Drive Ciena’s market penetration strategy and develop programs to displace entrenched vendors
Support marketing strategy with press, analyst, events marketing, and lead generation programs
Use market, customer, and competitive input to develop the appropriate solutions for the market, and drive its positioning on a global basis into various verticals and application spaces
Build relationships, leads, and influence internal / external customers, as well as external partners
Business deal support, working to solve the business issues Sales teams face to help drive revenue and achieve their stated corporate goals
Support on RFx positioning including competitive, strategic, and tactical considerations
Conduct, gather, and interpret market, customer, and competitor research to identify and capitalize on market trends, challenges, opportunities, and competitor weaknesses
Support Ciena’s presence at tradeshows, industry forums, and analyst events, as required
Provide leadership in the development of Sales / Partner training, readiness, and collateral
Create compelling digital content targeted and written to the specific audiences to create demand for Ciena’s comprehensive network solutions
Liaise regularly with Product Line Management, Sales, Services, R&D, and the greater Marketing team to ensure constant feedback to address market challenges and opportunities in a timely manner
Intermediate understanding of routing, switching, optical, and virtualization technologies
Proven track record of working in a team-oriented environment while leverage remote resources
Proven track record of presentation, interpersonal, and communications skills (internal and external)
Proven track record of proficient writing skills for creating / editing meaningful content for specific audiences via blogs, white papers, presentations, success stories, and case studies.
Successful experience and innovation in developing business / marketing plans and collateral
Successful experience in or working with Sales, Marketing, PLM, and R&D
Proven success in bringing network technologies and solutions to market is a major plus
Takes initiatives and proposes innovative network / business solutions, out-of-the box thinking is key
Team player who works well with customers, analysts, partners, and cross-functional colleagues
Strong organizational skills and ability execute or drive deliverables and initiatives to closure
Strong sense of ownership to manage deliverables effectively across a multi-functional team
Flexible individual capable of handling multiple tasks with minimal supervision
Possess a passion for winning and is driven to succeed or excel in one’s career
Willingness to travel to customer meetings and industry tradeshow support, as required
BSEE / MSEE or equivalent, with MBA preferred, and / or relevant work experience an asset
