The successful candidate will develop personal research leading to a PhD in geography of urban economic systems and regional science.
The approach would be linked to urban systems through evolutionary city theory and evolutionary economic geography : multi-level and multidimensional conceptualization as well as autonomous creation.
Interest in comparative analysis : statistical capabilities, network analysis, design and organization of massive geo-localized relational databases.
The successful candidate will devote at least half of their working time (i.e., at least 40% out of the total 80%) to their PhD research, with the remaining time reserved for supporting research and teaching of Prof.
Celine Rozenblat in the fields of urban geography (Bachelor level) as well as in socio-economic clusters in the strategies of cities within globalization (Master level).
The successful candidate is expected to have earned a Master degree (or equivalent) in Urban geography or Spatial analysis or Regional and urban economy or Urban sociology .
A high-level understanding of multi-level urban systems and statistics is essential.
Proficiency in English and good level in French are expected (French is the teaching language at UNIL as well as the main idiom of interaction within IGD.)
