Global Quality Management is a cross functional activity with a high level of complexity. Our challenges include dynamic global quality market expectations, diverse and evolving global quality standards and managing the high level of interest in our activities from regulatory authorities and customers.
Given DNP’s strong emphasis on Quality leadership in our markets we value our role in protecting and enhancing the DNP image and reputation.
The Food Safety Expert will support our manufacturing units in locations around the world. The role holder will be part of the Global Quality Management team and will also be at the center of these activities, interacting with multiple DNP entities (e.
g. market segments) and global departments.
The core Global Quality Management team is located in Kaiseraugst, Switzerland.
The Position :
Responsible for the overall management and strategic direction of the Food Safety at DNP
Be the global contact point for DNP for questions related to Food Safety
Develop documentation such as SOP’s, as well as directives related to any food safety requirements
Develop training modules and provide training to the DNP relevant stakeholders
Give hands-on support and guidance to sites (Nutritional Ingredient for food and feed) wrt Food Safety, Food Fraud and Food Defense
Conduct internal Global Food Safety audits
Lead the DNP Food Safety subject matter expert Community
Support for customer questions / audits / complaints or during investigation related to Food Safety issue or relevant topics
Support the global team for supplier audits in case of specific requirements about Food Safety
Oversee the DNP HACCP plans
Support sites in case of questions about HACCP (methodology, assessment, )
Optimize performance and efficiency of our current HACCP approach
Drive performance improvement through assessment of system data related to Food Safety, primarily from our TrackWise™ quality management software and in direct contact with the production sites
Responsible for regulatory surveillance related to Food Safety and assess impacts for DNP and lead the implementation part if needed
Monitor industries good practices, emerging food safety changes and trends through webinars, conferences, networking
Become contact point for halal and kosher related questions and support sites in case of audits
The Ideal :
MSc in Life Science / Food Science or related field
Proven experience within Quality Management in Life Science industry >
8 years, with a minimum of 3 years of food safety experience
Strong knowledge of Quality Management related to food / feed standards (FSSC 22000, FSMA, HACCP, FAMI QS, Halal, Kosher) and food / feed regulatory and compliance
Ability to proactively identify challenges and develop solutions
Good auditing capability in Food regulated environment
Good communication, leadership and organizational skills and ability to work collaboratively with international diverse and cross-functional teams
Fluency in English, other languages are assets
Willingness to travel
PCQI certification would be an asset
