The purpose of the role is to execute the reimbursement health economic strategies to secure optimal market access, reimbursement / funding for designated Cranial Spinal Technologies (CST) products, and to support establishment of these technologies as standard of care within key markets for the Medtronic CST Operating Unit in Europe.

The Reimbursement Health Economics Analyst will be a member of the Health Economics Policy and Reimbursement (HEPR) team and will work as a partner to Medtronics CST Operating Unit in developing economic evidence, health economic evaluations, value propositions, and customer-facing economic tools.

This role will forge close, cross-functional working relationships with global and regional reimbursement, marketing, clinical affairs, government affairs, pricing, and other functions across the business.

Under the direction of Sr Global Director CST HEPR, and in alignment with the Principal HER Analyst, CST Europe, the successful Analyst candidate will show the ability to demonstrate economic value and support the design of value propositions of CST products to key stakeholders in Europe.

A Day in the Life

  • Supports the development of value dossiers covering the product, comparators, market characteristics, clinical and economic evidence to support market access and health technology assessment submissions;
  • Execute health economic projects including cost-effectiveness, cost-utility, cost-of-illness analyses and budget impact analyses to support market access strategies
  • Aligns cost effectiveness and budget impact models to local needs;
  • Supports the HER team in developing knowledge of reimbursement and funding pathways for the CST portfolio in Europe : in effective collaboration with regional, country strategic business unit partners, and understand reimbursement / funding gaps / needs
  • Delivers payer and marketing-focused evidence, to support campaigns to promote uptake and adoption of selected technologies towards standard of care for eligible patient population.
  • Delivers training to internal and external stakeholders
  • Analyze and communicate clinical economic evidence to target audiences within the region, including publication of research findings
  • Ensure quality in delivery and execution.
  • Provide therapy-specific and general reimbursement / HE education and training to key internal and external audiences within region.
  • Must Have : Minimum Requirements

    Postgraduate degree (MS, MPH, MPP, MBA, PhD or MD) in Economics, Health Economics, Life Sciences, Health Policy or related field required

    Working knowledge of healthcare economics

    At least 3-5 years (with BA), 0-3 years (with postgraduate degree) of experience in roles working in the healthcare economic and

    reimbursement area in Europe with medical technology firms (preferred), pharmaceutical firms or a health economics, pricing and

    reimbursement consulting firm.

  • Good knowledge and experience in medical writing
  • Good knowledge of the application, development and review of health economic models
  • Experience in conducting outcomes research projects and developing value propositions
  • Good knowledge of reimbursement systems in Europe
  • Fluent in English
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to work across cultures, strong project management skills, results orientation, quality orientation
  • Nice to Have

  • Record of publication in peer reviewed journals
  • Ability to work comfortably and collaboratively in a complex, global, matrix organization
  • Strong interpersonal and cultural competencies
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to diverse non-technical audiences
  • Expected travel : approximately 20% of regular working time
