Position Summary

At the Nestlé Development Unit (NDU) Nutrition in Orbe, we develop new products, processes and packaging concepts in the areas of Infant Cereals and Healthy Snacks for Nestlé worldwide.

In addition, we also provide technical assistance to our factories around the world. We are looking for a Product Development Specialist for Infant Cereals to be responsible for the development, innovation and renovation of products, processes and systems from inception through all stages of development in the product category.

As a Product Development Specialist, you will drive in close collaboration with experienced project managers and product developers SBU Nutrition Infant Cereals initiatives with a high impact on the business.

You will lead the product development or part of the projects and interact proactively with the other technical and operational functions to ensure the overall project objectives.

A day in the life of a Product Development Specialist

  • Drive nutrition-based product development and deliver innovative cereal-based product and process solutions to support the Infant Cereals pipeline
  • Ensure compliance by developing recipes by design
  • Ensure that the requirements in safety, quality & regulatory are met, from prototyping to commercial launch
  • Execute trials up to industrialization (pilot plant and factory trials)
  • Meet financial and consumer expectations as per the innovation framework and validated consumer centricity & product superiority
  • Develop technical expertise for core Infant Cereals technologies
  • What will make you successful

  • Master or PhD degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Food Chemistry, or equivalent
  • Product development experience preferably in Infant Nutrition or related categories. Factory experience with product industrialization and accompanying product launches is desired.
  • Previous Infant Cereals technology experience would be a plus

  • Strongly team-oriented
  • Savvy in expertise & processes, fully autonomous
  • Results-oriented and agile with a high level of perseverance
  • Open minded, curious with wide interests
  • Flexible and energized by possibilities change
  • Fluent in English; French would be a plus
