About the Role

Do you want to experience being a part of the process that decides how Swiss Re costs its long-term mortality and longevity business and allocates capital to the risk pools in key markets?
One of the responsibilities of the Life & Behaviour R&D team is the production and application of research in support of the life & health business units within Swiss Re.
We are looking for a motivated individual to join our team to assist us in a project that aims at conducting research to better understand current morbidity and mortality trends and identify and assess underlying drivers to project future long-term mortality developments in different countries.
In further details the research will include :
You will be encouraged to work independently but will of course have support and mentorship from the project coach and project sponsor and learn from others in the team as well.
About the Team
The global Life & Behaviour R&D team is an international multidisciplinary research team that works on a broad range of topics such as mortality developments, genomics, ageing, advancement in medicines & technology and behavioural research.
We are a team from a range of scientific, medical and actuarial backgrounds with strong academic and business experience.
We identify and analyse structured / unstructured datasets throughout the world that provide insights on health trends and developments.
We develop insights on behavioural research through targeted interventions at different stages in the insurance journey.
We provide thought leadership and client services within and outside Swiss Re to inform capital steering, improve underwriting decisions and product pricing assumptions, as well as capacity- and risk limit management.
We establish effective partnerships and collaborations with universities, data providers and research organisations on a global basis.
Duration of internship : 4 months, starting March 2020
