Your field of responsibility

Credit Suisse is looking for a senior leader with deep Client Tax, Cross Border and Market Management expertise to lead the definition and implementation of a best practice to manage Client Tax (FATCA, AEI etc), Cross Border and Market Management risk and to own the first line of defense framework.

As Head of Client Tax, Cross Border and Market Management within the Business Risk & Process Solutions (BRPS) team, you will be the 1LoD owner for this risk / process theme for the WM division with the ambition to own the divisional governance, identify and monitor related risks, lead the definition and implementation of adequate control landscapes, own the Target Operating Model and be the risk advisor for Front Office.

Key responsibilities include :

  • Maintain Divisional Governance and Oversight for Client Tax, Cross Border and Market Management matters.
  • Define the Divisional Client Tax, Cross Border and Market Management framework and standards in line with the Credit Suisse Global framework, policies and (global minimum) standards as well as local regulatory requirements.
  • In collaboration with relevant process and control owners, design and implement Client Tax, Cross Border and Market Management processes and controls in line with the Divisional Client Tax, Cross Border and Market Management framework and standards, including risk appetite.
  • Optimize operational efficiency and risk mitigation effectiveness in the design of processes and controls by leveraging and deploying new and existing technologies.
  • Take leadership to bring and maintain an adequate control landscape.
  • Monitor the risk, control and process environment for Client Tax, Cross Border and Market Management risks (including KRI / KPIs, incidents, e-cases, MICOS) to ensure a robust risk, control and process landscape.
  • Ensure alignment of Client Tax, Cross Border and Market Management processes and controls across BAs and verticals.
  • Serves as point of escalation for Client Tax, Cross Border and Market Management matters and facilitate the issue resolution and further escalation as required.
  • Promote and enhance the risk and control culture front-to-back, amongst all relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide industry intelligence and be aware of industry practice. Maintain the Target Operating Model and take ownership of the required changes
  • Ensure consistent Front Office engagement using the feedback as a source of input for the required changes to achieve the required level of compliance in a Front Office friendly manner
  • Lead a high performing team of risk professionals that is execution focused and disciplined in approach. Provide leadership and management for a regional team in close collaboration with global stakeholders.
  • Display appropriate levels of assertiveness to project stature for the function across the organization.

  • Build relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. Effectively drive accountability across functions.
  • Manage key stakeholders and local / regional management relationships as well as serve as an advisor and sparring partner to local, regional and divisional management in Client Tax, Cross Border and Market Management matters.
  • Some of the framework you will be responsible for includes FATCA, AEI, GCTP for WM and Swiss Bank, Client Tax Risk Score, Product Management Tax Products, Cross Border, Market Management incl.
  • Client Coverage rules and full market exits, Shared Relationships, Applicable Offering etc

    Your future colleagues

    You will work closely and collaborate with colleagues in the BRPS team, FLDS, respective BA COOs and other stakeholders (incl.

    Compliance) to push the Client Tax, Cross Border and Market Management agenda forward with sound guidance and effective oversight.

    You will report to the Head of BRPS and manage employees based in Switzerland, Singapore and Hong Kong

    Your skills and experience

  • University degree or equivalent education, further education , Master’s degree, MBA, CFA, PMI
  • At least 15+ years of experience in Private Banking / Wealth Management with particular focus on Client Tax, Cross Border and Market Management etc
  • Proven hands-on experience and accountability in Private Banking / Wealth Management
  • Displayed knowledge and leadership of risk and control culture
  • Experienced in management and coordination of global teams
  • Experience liaising with key regulators (, MAS, HKMA / SFC etc) would be an advantage
  • Proven leader / people developer and experience in Project Management would be an advantage
  • Effective communication and stakeholder-management skills, particularly in the ability to liaise with senior Front Office as well as other key stakeholders and the ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team
  • Ability to engage, collaborate with and influence a broad stakeholder group that include business leaders, compliance and technology.
  • Strong operations orientation with the proven ability to design scalable processes and use analytics and technology solutions to mitigate risk and increase efficiencies
  • Strong client and problem-solving experience with the ability to manage multiple senior level stakeholders confidently, transparently and efficiently
  • Excellent strategic and analytical thinking combined with result-orientation and pragmatic implementation capabilities.
  • Fluency in English is a must, other languages (, French, Mandarin, etc) is a plus
