Job Overview

The Innovation & R&D Manager will be part of the Tim Hortons EMEA team and responsible for our research and development strategy, specifically related to product innovation, a fundamental pillar of the company’s marketing strategy.

The Tim Hortons EMEA team is responsible to define and execute the growth strategy in all the markets where Tim Hortons is present in the EMEA region.

Specifically, on the innovation front, this position is the guardian of Tim Hortons’ product standards and is responsible for developing product innovations that drive the business forward.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Developing Tim Hortons product innovation strategy, managing the development and launch of new products and the renovation of existing products.
  • Managing portfolio of projects to deliver against business objects through strong action plans

  • Cross-functional alignment with internal partners (e.g., Operations, Supply Chain, Quality Assurance) and working with external suppliers to ideate, co-develop and commercialize platforms and resolve issues with existing products
  • Act as a guardian for product standards and manage the product approval process. Develop procedures and process to ensure products are executed at the store level
  • Concept and product testing to provide consumer insights and validation to innovation ideas. Ensure products deliver are delivering exception taste and quality to match guest experience
  • Provide guidance to local teams on product innovation, product standards and consumer testing
  • Qualifications

  • 3+ years of previous experience in food product innovation in the fast food / restaurant industry, or in an FMCG company
  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Food Science / Food Engineering / Nutrition
  • Strong business acumen and a drive for results
  • Advanced problem solving skills and analytical capabilities in complex situations; ability to analyze marketing data and consumer behavior data
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at higher levels internally and externally to impact significant business outcomes
  • Able to work under pressure and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Fluent business English
