Objectives of this Role

The Specialist, Scheduling & Logistics for Patients Operations is accountable for the orchestration of patient treatments between Apheresis Centers, Manufacturing Sites and Logistics Providers used for Celgene Clinical and Commercial Chimeric Antigen Receptor (CAR) T-cell Therapies.

The Specialist will be to schedule and monitor patient treatment schedules for the manufacturing of Celgene’s Clinical and Commercial autologous cellular immunotherapy products.

Knowledge and skills required

  • Coordinate with cell therapy collection centers, manufacturing sites, administration sites, and third-party logistics partners to create and maintain patient schedules within the process constraints
  • Input and maintain data related to patient schedules within the CTDO scheduling system
  • Proactively monitor the cell therapy collection, delivery, transportation, and manufacturing activities for patient schedules as they move through the vein to vein process
  • Troubleshoot and develop plans of action for expected & unanticipated logistical issues during the transport of cell therapy products
  • Resolve customer issues in a timely manner
  • Liaise / collaborate with apheresis operations, clinical operations, medical directors, commercial, quality, and third-
  • party logistics partners to resolve issues

  • Author and implement procedures and work instructions related to departmental functions
  • Support and manage high volume of calls and e-mails
  • Comply with applicable SOP’s and national / local regulations to maintain data integrity
  • Support the CTDO E-Systems platform as well as contribute to the development
  • Knowledge and skills required

  • Bachelor’s degree with a preference of 1-2+ years of scheduling or planning experience in a pharma / biotech or health services environment
  • Exceptional customer service skills, communication and organizational skills
  • Collaborates effectively with multiple individuals in a cross-functional, team- oriented environment
  • Excellent problem-resolution skills
  • Ability to multi-task and make decisions in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Strong e-system skills (experience with SalesForce, Tableau, Excel and / or similar systems preferred)
  • Ability to learn, retain and apply large amounts of product, procedure, policy and system information
  • Works well on a team of strong individual contributors
  • Flexibility in responding to change or business needs
  • Ability to accommodate non-traditional work schedules
  • Required written and verbal fluency in English language and minimally one other required European language (German, French, Spanish or Italian)
