Description du poste : Description de poste Global Head, Data Privacy Purpose of position The Global Head, Data Privacy provides leadership and oversight of data privacy activities for Alcon affiliates worldwide, and sets the strategic direction for the Alcon privacy program.
The Global Head will ensure that an effective governance structure is in place that allows privacy-related risks to be identified and properly addressed.
In addition, the Global Head, Data Privacy will have primary responsibility for advising Alcon senior leadership, and for overseeing EMEA, including Swiss data privacy matters.
Major Accountabilities - Lead and manage the Global Privacy function within Alcon - Establish and advocate for appropriate tools and resources to ensure compliance with international privacy laws and regulations -
Develop and implement an international data transfer compliance plan to ensure lawful global data transfer - Serve as a primary point of contact to senior management, including the Alcon Executive Leadership Team, the Alcon Legal Leadership Team, and the EMEA leadership teams on data privacy issues -
Build and maintain scientific and business expertise pertaining to Alcon's businesses, in order to fully understand and support Alcon data privacy related business needs -
Establish and maintain privacy request / complaint procedures - Provide training and oversight to associates who serve as part-
time data privacy officers - Ensure that all associates receive role-appropriate training and education on data privacy matters -
Drive the global privacy compliance program; set strategic direction and framework - Define data privacy specific auditing mechanisms to assess the handling of data privacy matters on group-
level - Liaise with regional and country-level Alcon data privacy officers on regional and country-level data privacy matters -
Coordinate the use of outside counsel to provide advice on privacy-related matters, to ensure effective and appropriate use of outside counsel -
Monitor key external privacy-related legislation and legal developments, and provide proactive communication to Alcon senior management as appropriate -
