Your mission

The VP Business Development & Marketing (MBD), based in Neuchâtel, Switzerland, is a member of the company’s Executive Board.

He / She manages a diverse and passionate team developing the company’s business and promoting it through creative marketing and communication initiatives.

He / She collaborates closely with CSEM’s internal divisions, implementing the marketing & business development strategy defined as a team.

While ownership for signing projects and managing client relationships lies within the Divisions, the VP MBD provides strategic and tactical contributions to stakeholders on how to maximize CSEM's position and opportunity conversion.

This leader has a proven ability to inspire his team and to boost CSEM’s marketing and communication.

Your responsibilities

  • Contribute to the Executive Board and other committees, such as CSEM’s Research Committee.
  • Prepare and implement the corporate business development, marketing & communication strategies.
  • Drive and develop the transition to Digital marketing.
  • Manage and strengthen CSEM’s start-up creation process.
  • Develop & maintain strong relations with CSEM’s industrial partners, Swiss research and technology organizations and foreign Research Centers.
  • Coordinate the acquisition of public projects.
  • Develop the MBD team and manage the MBD budget.
  • Know-how

  • MSc or PhD in technical topics related to CSEM activities, followed by a minimum of 10 years of successful professional experience in managing R&D business development, marketing and communication. MBA is an asset.
  • Proven experience in managing diverse teams.
  • Strong capabilities in strategic marketing and project management.
  • Deep knowledge in national and international R&D and start-up funding mechanisms.
  • Wide personnal network within the Swiss industry and Swiss & European R&D organizations.
  • Excellent knowledge in digital marketing tools and digital / social media communication tools
  • Experience with CRM processes and tools.
  • Fluent in English and French, ideally with good command of German.
