PURPOSE

The Business Analyst will be expected to identify and understand customers’ business needs, requirements and processes. The primary products this role will be working with will be from SITA’s Messaging portfolio.

He / she will be expected to define and document customer requirements and processes and produce mappings that will be used by our Development and Test teams for building and testing message transformations.

As SITA's customers as well as cross functional team are globally dispersed, the Business Consultant will be expected to work with teams in multiple time zones.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop a solid understanding of NDC standards, schemas and usage.
  • Develop mapping documents that can be handed over to Developers to write code.
  • Work closely with SITA's customers to elicit and validate business requirements and document them.
  • Work closely with SITA's customers to understand their business processes and document them clearly.
  • Works closely with SITA's customers and SITA's internal stakeholders to develop and document business architecture.
  • Works closely with SITA's Development and Test teams to help them understand business requirements, business processes and business architecture.
  • Works closely with teams to validate business scenarios that will form the basis of test cases.
  • Develop User Acceptance Test Plans.
  • Guide customers during User Acceptance Testing.
  • Works closely with other Business Analysts within and external to SITA.
  • Provides feedback to Product Managers on enhancing and evolving products.
  • EXPERIENCE

  • At least 5 years experience in the airline industry working in the areas of reservations, ticketing and airline operations
  • Experience in business analysis including experience in documenting use cases.
  • Experience in eliciting business requirements and business processes and documenting them.
  • Experience in Software Development or Testing is a plus.
  • Understanding of Airline Industry IT environment an advantage.
  • Experience working with customers and vendors at various levels.
  • KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • Knowledge of NDC standards and how they can be used by airlines is a plus.
  • Some knowledge of airline messaging.
  • Knowledge of airline booking applications.
  • Possesses sound judgemental and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem and conflict management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in diverse groups at various levels of the organisation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Knowledge of the Unified Modeling Language is a plus.
