Having focused on the highest power ranges, we have recently taken the strategic decision to increase our efforts on applications within the electric vehicle and industrial semiconductor industry.

The next step is to establish a profit center in the form of an incubator for the Automotive & Medium Power Industrial segment.

It is in this area that we are looking to secure the services of a genuine expert as a strategically minded Category Manager with a strong background in the automotive sector.

Drawing on your specialist knowledge and vision and focusing heavily on customer related projects new product introduction (NPI), you will improve our abilities for design for cost and -

design, and initiate sourcing processes on a continual basis and develop tailor-made procurement strategies in cooperation with your colleagues in the supply chain organization (SCM).

Your expertise will be of particular value in the field of project management and new product introduction. You will closely drive and monitor developments within the customer projects, and use the global supply market to support our product development efforts.

We will also be relying on your committed contribution with regard to sustainability, risk management, and supply chain management.

Your responsibilities

  • Work in close collaboration with customers and product development teams (NPI) : professional negotiation of contracts, risk mitigation, and establishing a stable foundation for continuity of supply, etc.
  • Ensure start of production (SOP) readiness of suppliers as part of NPI projects : schedules, quality, logistics, costs in cooperation with our SCM team.
  • Conduct innovation workshops and identify potential for cost streamlining, in addition to implementing appropriate measures in collaboration with customers and suppliers
  • Maintain close dialogue with Logistics, Development, Quality Assurance, and Sales for the purpose of addressing specific issues occurring in the customer related processes
  • Ensure that cost, logistics, and quality targets are met in NPI, in addition to pursuing annual price reductions through design and production improvements in productivity
  • Closely track changes in projects from a quality and commercial perspectives
  • Contribute to and conduct kick-off workshops relating to product and material improvements
  • Your background

  • Academic qualifications in Engineering as well as several years' experience in working for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 supplier (directed parts) and / or a vehicle manufacturer, an MBA in economics and advantage
  • In-depth understanding and project experience with regard to APQP as well as standards and directives for the automotive sector : IATF 16949, VDA 6.1
  • Detailed understanding of customer requirements, supplier and upstream supplier costings
  • Excellent knowledge of sourcing and procurement processes and projects within the international automotive sector, including collaboration with interdisciplinary teams
  • Well-developed communication and negotiating skills in German and English
