Senior Ecommerce Business Manager - BD Biosciences

We are recruiting for a highly driven Senior Ecommerce Business Manager to join our BD Biosciences (BDB) business unit at the European Headquarter in Eysins, Switzerland.

BD Biosciences are making key investments in eCommerce and are completely revamping to create the next generation state-of- the-art, customer- and science-focused portal.

The leader we are looking for will oversee the launch of the new portal in 2021 and will have the overall responsibility of driving sales, engagement, retention, leads and positive customer behavior for the BDB research and clinical products on our eCommerce platforms.

Ultimately, the leader will be responsible for business success of our ecommerce platforms.

The role reports to the Marketing Director BDB for EMEA, and will manage a team in charge of operational aspects of our web shop for life science solutions as well as B2B e-business connections to major customer accounts.

The position collaborates strongly with global marketing, regional product management, regional marketing communications, country marketing, customer service and IT.

Strong customer focus, fact-based decision making and being a team player are keys to success in this role.

In this role you will :

Drive and own the performance of eCommerce channels in Europe, deliver on growth goals of the webshop as well as B2B punchouts

Launch the globally developed new and enhance web portal with integrated eCommerce functionality in European countries

Ensure alignment of the web and eCommerce product value proposition, program scope, and strategic business objectives keeping the customer needs in mind

Launch campaigns to drive traffic and purchase on eCommerce channels by collaborating with product and marketing communication teams

Evaluate customer responsiveness by gathering data and analytics to make recommendations based on those results. Work with owners of products and marketing content to revise and measure effectiveness with the online users

Set monthly, quarterly, and annual planning process and calendar for website changes / channel improvements

Work closely with global, regional, and country marketing team and marketing communications to expand existing eCommerce capabilities

Work with functional leaders and global and regional marketing resources to ensure the appropriate collaboration and communication occurs at all levels of the organization

Lead, direct, coach, and mentor team members and direct reports to maximize success

We are looking for someone that has :

B.A. or B.Sc. from an accredited university or college

Must have leadership and management experience of a web / eCommerce team, candidates from non-healthcare industries are welcome

Well versed in tracking key KPIs for web / eCommerce and the resulting business performance in regular cadence and made business decision thereupon

A good understanding of web best practices including user experience, SEO, A / B testing, and website performance optimization.

A good understanding of HTML & CSS and experience with Google Analytics or a similar analytics tool

Experience working with CMS (content management systems)

Experience with online lead funnels (generation, nurturing, scoring and conversion) using CRM such as and marketing automation technology such as Marketo

5+ years proven experience managing project types across multiple teams

Excellent communication skills, both verbally and electronically with demonstrated examples of relationship building across a highly matrixed organization

Well-organized, detail oriented, and resourceful

Ability to work under pressure, handle changing priorities and simultaneously handle multiple priorities with limited resources

Team player - good humored, patient, and eager to help out

Faces challenges with tenacity and an open and positive attitude toward problem solving

To ensure the safety of our associates, BD supports remote work where possible. This position is based in the listed location, but is temporarily remote-based due to Covid-19.

We are continuing to monitor the situation and follow local governmental guidance to advise when is the right time and safe for our associates to return to their BD work location.
