Roles and Responsibilities :

Responsible for EMEIA trade compliance programs and continuous improvements

  • Ensure Company’s compliance with export / import laws for Direct and Indirect Markets
  • Review and develop enhancements to Company’s existing trade compliance program;
  • Develop, maintain and update documented internal controls and desk operating procedures over trade compliance matters;
  • Enhance post shipment import / export audit program and KPI development / management

  • Evaluate opportunities to facilitate trade in a cost-effective and compliant manner (e.g., make use of applicable free trade agreements, trade preference programs, etc.);
  • Provide strategic guidance on the incorporation of trade compliance requirements into the Company’s business processes;
  • Interact with trade-related government agencies within EMEIA and abroad;
  • Provide compliance training to Company personnel as needed;
  • Oversee freight forwarders’ and other vendors’ compliance with export / import rules;
  • Field all trade compliance questions from employees of the Company;
  • Develop and oversee duty management program and compliance with FTAs and other duty preferential programs

    Qualifications

    RequiredKnowledge, Skills, and Experience :

    15+ years of international trade experience, focusing primarily oncustoms and trade

    5+ years of experience leading a team or trade compliance program

    Experience interfacing directly with customs and partner governmentagency authorities on a regular basis, including responding to government inquiriesand audits

    BA / BS degree or equivalent required; MA in relevant field (e.g.,international policy, international business) or evidence of exceptionalability and / or experience

    Working knowledge of tariff classification, free trade agreements,and medical device regulations strongly preferred

    Detail oriented and highly organized with ability to multi-task,including a demonstrated ability to drive decision-making in a fast-pacedenvironment with on-demand requests

    Demonstrated ability to deliver novel and practical solutions tosolve complex supply chain / logistics issues

    Ability to drive complex, cross-functional projects includingsetting scope, reaching consensus, executing on tasks, and presenting results.

    Ability to write, speak, and present effectively and persuasivelyat all levels.

    Experienced with MS Office, including knowledge of Excel, Access,and PowerPoint.

    Working knowledge of SAP and experience with implementing (or at aminimum utilizing) databases and enterprise resource planning ( ERP ) globaltrade automation solutions.

    Some business travel ( 20%) will be required
