We are looking for a Field Application Specialist (FAS) to join our new sales and support team for the Swiss market. This is a great opportunity to join Cepheid and to become a vital part of our growth journey!
In this field-based position you will cover a dedicated territory of Western Switzerland, but is not limited to.
In this role, you will provide in-field assistance for pre- and post- sale technical activities with a primary emphasis on growing the user base of diagnostic products.
You will provide technical guidance and support to customers on instrument operation, assay implementation and accreditation, maintenance of company products.
Make technical presentations and conduct product demonstrations for customers. Work collaboratively with Sales, Marketing, Scientific Affair, Technical Support, Service and global business units to identify and assess customer needs and provide high quality customer care that exceeds expectations.
Essential Job Responsibilities :
Integrate Cepheid Systems, Connectivity Solutions as well as assays into customer laboratories and provide support to customers during the evaluation, implementation and accreditation process for a smooth and rapid Go Live.
Demonstration / Training of Cepheid Systems and Connectivity Solutions, software, reagents to current and potential customers.
Jointly develop account strategies with Sales Representatives aimed at increasing Cepheid business as rapidly as possible.
Conduct technical seminars and presentations at customer sites, trade shows and workshops to drive thought leader adoption of Cepheid technology.
Provide enhancements for development and optimization of Cepheid solutions.
Serve as customer advocate for timely resolution to customer concerns
Follow normal standard of work for documentation and customer complaint handling to ensure total customer satisfaction.
Ensure territory status information is updated as requested : including but not limited to installation and training records, site visits, expense reports and travel calendar
Participate in Technical material development and ensure all FAS customer facing technical material is updated.
Complete all assigned and required training satisfactorily and on time
Education and Knowledge :
Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Biology Micro Biology with a focus on microbiology or virology
Relevant work experience experience outside of the academic environment
Medical Technologist experience is beneficial
Experience working the field as well as in direct customer contact would be desirable
Experience in molecular and microbiological techniques
Practical experience in the laboratory environment with lab automation systems
Experience with LIS / connectivity is helpful
Experience using technology for documentation and communication
Experience with CRM, SAP or similar
Demonstrated excellent customer relations / service skills
Self-motivated and independent problem solver
Goal oriented, results driven
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work independently as well as team orientated
Networking skills to grow the business
Proficient in computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Lotus Notes / Outlook)
Demonstrated excellent time management and organization, project management skills
Fluent in English and French
Ability to travel frequently within assigned territory
