Join us and help us reimagine medicine.Job purpose : Novartis is currently recruiting for a Patient Safety Specialist in the Safety Governance / Business Initiatives team to be located on site in Frimley and reporting into the Novartis Patient Safety Group Head.

This important and varied role based within the Patient Safety team provides support to the business in the conduct of externally facing commercial programs and initiatives.

The primary aim of this role is to support UK initiatives conducted by Novartis or third parties, which have the possibility to generate adverse event data (including marketing programs, social media, Apps, websites, post marketing studies).

The role involves liaising with UK business franchises, third parties, Patient Safety colleagues and the global organisation to ensure that these programs are set up and monitored correctly in line with regulatory requirements.

This role would be suitable for an experienced pharmacovigilance professional who would like to broaden their pharmacovigilance experience supporting a fast-

paced commercial environment.Key Responsibilities : The business initiative team responsibilities for this role include :

  • Reviewing initial assessment of likelihood of AE reports being received for new marketing programs through discussion with marketing program owner / Patient Safety
  • Proactively liaising with program owners and providing guidance and information on the requirements for collecting adverse event (AE) reports
  • Providing guidance and information to the business activity owner within Novartis on the requirements for collecting adverse event (AE) reports in accordance with the classification of their program
  • Delivering AE training to Novartis associates and third party vendors to ensure compliance with AE reporting
  • Managing and executing monitoring requirements for individual programs including reconciliation and source data verification activities
  • Maintaining oversight of program compliance in accordance with local and global Novartis procedures.Additional responsibilities include :
  • Represent Patient Safety at internal and external meetings
  • Play an active / leading role in cross-functional teams on safety matters / Patient Safety special projects relating to investigational and marketed drugs.

    Minimum requirements

    The ideal candidate will have :

  • University degree level
  • Certified level of written and spoken English
  • At least 1-2 years’ experience in drug safety, pharmacovigilance area
  • Health Care Sciences Professional (e.g. Medical Doctor, Nurse, Pharmacist).
