The financial controller contributes to the overall success of the organization by effectively managing all financial tasks for the organization.


Financial accounting and reporting

  • Develop and maintain timely and accurate financial statements and reports that are appropriate for the users and in accordance with international accepted accounting principales
  • Ensure compliance with internal financial and accounting policies and procedures
  • Prepare all supporting information for the annual audit and liaise external auditors as necessary
  • Prepare the annual budget in consultation with local management and the executive director
  • Manage the cash flow and prepare cash flow forecasts
  • Liaise with the treasurer and group finances as appropriate
  • Commenting on variance analysis, especially on variances in margin
  • Ensure & review of pricing for goods to be sold
  • Ensure accrual based accounting on a monthly basis
  • Risk management

  • Monitor risk management policies and procedures to ensure that program and organizational risks are minimized
  • Ensure that an appropriate ICS (Internal control system) is implemented and necessary improvements are made
  • Negotiate with bank for lines of credit or other financial services as required and appropriate
  • Qualifications

  • University degree in Finance, Economics or Business Administration with focus on controlling
  • Chartered accountancy qualification is highly desired
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels of an organization and the ability to engage both internal and external resources successfully.
  • Excellent computer skills required including Excel, PowerPoint & Word - experience in working with an ERP System (SAP) is needed
  • Business fluent in French and English - strong presentation and communication skills required
  • Deadline & business driven with the ability to work independently, a conceptional and keen mindset for identifying business issues
  • Critical thinking and analytical skills with excellent attention to quality and detail
  • Open-minded team player who is able to manage a highly versatile and multicultural team
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in a similar position
  • Strong negotiation skills
