Role Purpose :
This is an exciting opportunity to join Lonza in Basel and to aid the operational support, development, security and compliance for the Cell and Gene systems.
You will also assist with the deployment of standardized Cell and Gene solutions within Lonza. To devise and implement strategies for the future development and modernization of automation systems.
You are to ensure that Lonza are able to capture process and interpret scientific and business data in order to make informed decisions.
Key Accountabilities and Duties :
Accountability for the integrity and security of the Cell & Gene Global traceability platform and other systems across the Lonza network.
Managing the routine operation, development, improvement and standardization of the Cell and Gene systems and associated processes used within Lonza.
Ensuring the compliance of these systems with all relevant local, global, industry and regulatory policies and guidelines
Develop an in-depth understanding of IT, Engineering and business initiatives, strategies and needs for the future and ensure alignment of Cell and Gene delivery in line with the OT Strategy.
Responsible for Standardization of Cell and Gene systems
Support in the development and implementation of a comprehensive Cell and Gene Roadmap for Lonza to ensure that that Operations and Services needs are anticipated and exceeded
Enforce deployment of defined standard across the network
Establishing and maintaining global visibility and connectivity for the Lonza OT with local sites.
Proactively identify opportunities for OT to deliver innovative solutions to customer issues / challenges and situations where leading edge technological innovations can be deployed to business advantage
Developing business cases and leading digital capital projects in the Cell and Gene automation area.
Remain aware of external best practice in the field and use this knowledge to develop and maintain the necessary capabilities within the site / region / function
Lead the development of custom software applications were a business need arises.

Furthermore you have the following skills, experience and qualifications :
University Degree Scientific and / or IT related or similar preferably a Masters
5 10 years' in Pharmaceutical Development or Manufacturing (GMP)
Previous experience in either manufacturing or supply chain of Cell and Gene therapies solutions would be ideal.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for transforming defined business needs into system requirements.
Proficient knowledge of pharmaceutical processes.
Strong vendor Management experience.
Virtual team Management experience
In depth knowledge of OT systems and their independency with IT infrastructure.
In depth knowledge of Quality and Regulatory requirements for OT systems in GMP Facilities
Knowledge of technology-based Project Management tools
Technical Knowledge of IT computing and security principles
Technical knowledge of integration techniques and communication protocols
Technical knowledge to basic programming concepts and databases
Understanding of Enterprise Architecture, networks, servers and routing systems
Knowledgeable about FDA / EMA compliance requirements
Fluent in English
