Role description
The mission of the Global Application Engineer is to provide highest-level technical expertise for Industry Segment teams and associated customers.
The person in this role is the global technical knowledge expert of the Industry Segment and a collaborative partner to create customer impact together with Global, Regional, Market Area and Country commercial teams.
The role requires expert level technical and strong interpersonal skills.
As part of the global Industry Segment team, the Global Application Engineer demonstrates expert level technical support leading to trusted customer relationships and confidence in Habasit as a high-quality business partner.
The person in this role collaborates and communicates openly and builds trustful relationships with Global, Regional, Market Area and Country commercial teams.
The person will be dedicated to the task full time (100%).
Main tasks and responsibilities
Provide primary application and technical support for the global Industry Segment team
Act as technical advisor and provide deep expert-level technical knowledge of relevant key processes, applications, and products to global & country-level commercial teams
Support offer development with technical content, specification, drawings and assist in costing
Develop and provide training on applications and solutions to global & country-level commercial teams
Develop a detailed understanding and knowledge of competitor technical strengths and weaknesses
Provide technical content for Marketing activities (flyers, brochures, reference cases, success stories)
Provide direct application and active technical support to customers within the Industry Segment
Be a collaborative partner to Portfolio & Technology Development (P&TD) on innovation
Be the technical interface to other functions (e.g., Operations, Technical Support, P&TD, Sales)
Be the expert, and support the use of, technical tools within the Industry Segment team
Education and experience
University degree in mechanical engineering (4-years degree, reputable university)
Minimum of >
5 years experience in engineering or maintenance within the industry
Experience working at a manufacturer or OEM within the industry
Experience in expert level technical support, design, and project management (e.g., technical troubleshooting, training automation processes, conveyor design, belting products)
Experience working in multi-site and international work environments
