The Medical Strategy & Operations Lead will be responsible to support the planning and execution of the Medical organization in Switzerland and Austria and develop and embed key capabilities that can be leveraged to increase the effectiveness of the broader team and the success of the organization.

In this role he / she will report directly to the Cluster Medical Director (CMD) CHAT and is a member of the CHAT Medical Leadership Team (MLT).

As a key member of the MLT he / she will establish priorities, objectives and performance metrics to build operational excellence and drive execution across the portfolio within the CHAT Medical Organization.

In addition, the Medical Strategy & Operations Lead will provide strategic & operational management, advice and quality assurance to the medical department.

He / she will be responsible for training programs, budgetary management and operational excellence. This position also leads medical projects relevant for the department and runs workshops.

The person serves as international point of contact for all Medical Strategy & Operations matters. Key Responsibilities and Major Duties : Leading Harmonization Initiatives across CHAT Medical Facilitate best-practice sharing and implementation across Therapeutic Area Teams in order to harmonize processes across the CHAT Medical Organization Coordination of Yearly Brand Planning Cycles Engage with Disease Area Heads, Field Medical Managers etc.

to establish the process that leads to the creation of yearly Medical plans. Facilitate and drive engagement with Commercial and other key business partners to ensure a comprehensive and aligned plan.

Coordinate the engagement of the broader team and ensure deliverables are done on time. Ensures the delivery of key documents to management, capturing the result of the planning exercises.

Internal Coordination of Medical pre-Launch Activities Ensure pre-launch activities are properly planned, leading to timely and effective launches.

Ensure the delivery of Comprehensive set of Program Management activities that support Launch Excellence. Embed these capabilities to ensure consistency and continuous learning in launch activities.

Cross Functional & Organizational Strategy Collaborate with different stakeholders in Marketing, Access and other functions to streamline processes within the organization.

Optimize and structure processes to support efficient project execution. Establishing and coordination of medical digitalization initiatives.

Strategic Partner for the Field Medical Organization Engage with Field Medical and position yourself as a strategic steering partner to develop and optimize future medical capabilities.

Identify gaps and enable clear communication and governance support for the medical function. Strategic Dashboard Management Coordinate the creation of yearly budgets (OPEX) and manage the spending activities, ensuring financial targets are met.

Work with the financial team to secure effective management of the OPEX and headcount planning. Identify new ways of collaboration and refine cross-collaboration data exchange with the finance department.

Promotion of medical effectiveness in the market, including monitoring of medical metrics in relevant dashboards & scorecards.

Work as local contact point to the Worldwide organization in key strategy topics His / her ability to manage through complexity, collaborate and apply solid strategic and financial skills are key to his / her success.

Close collaboration with Global Medical Organization, BI&A and HEOR. Act as Chief of Staff for the Medical Department Coordinate the broader agenda for meetings and key strategic exercises conducted by the MLT.

  • Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills Required : PhD, MD or MBA required The candidate has ideally worked in a strategy consultancy with a primary focus on life sciences or in a medical affairs role in a global pharma company Strong background in the Oncology, Hematology, Immunology or Cardiovascular medical or business department is an advantage Proven track record of effectively interacting at all levels in a matrix organization from senior-level executives to all other employee groups;
  • ability to influence stakeholders and drive change Demonstrated ability to lead and deliver on initiatives Ability to build strong relationships across the matrix;
  • specifically within Commercial, Regulatory, Access, Clinical Research, Legal & Compliance and Finance Strong organizational, project management and problem solving skills Creative thinker, with proven ability to generate new ideas Understanding of trends to plan and anticipate what the organization needs in the future.
