The Kempinski Hotels Corporate Office is located in Geneva, Switzerland. The group currently operates a total of 79 five-star hotels in 34 countries.

The portfolio includes historic grand hotels, superb city hotels, outstanding resorts and superior residences.

Finance Manager (Group Tax)

This is a newly created role in our Corporate Finance Team. As a Finance Manager (Group Tax) you would take care of the coordination and management of tax matters of the entities within the Kempinski Group in cooperation with our external tax advisors.

Some experience and a strong appreciation and interest in tax matters are required in order to assess, prioritise and deal with the varied tax tasks at hand.

Key responsibilities :

  • Be the tax point of contact for all companies within the Kempinski Group and provide support for the corporate functions on tax matters.
  • Be the point of contact for the tax authorities in Switzerland and Germany.
  • Preparing the income tax returns together with the respective consultants by the deadline.
  • Review existing and new contracts both intercompany and with third parties to determine the tax impact.
  • Assist with Tax Audits and litigations coordinating local finance teams and tax advisors.
  • Manage the research in co-operation with external tax advisors on withholding taxes and / or PE evaluations for new and existing management agreements and prepare management presentations.
  • Assist the accounting teams of the subsidiaries with the documentation and follow-up of tax matters.
  • Ensure the correct VAT application and set-up in the accounting processes of the companies within the Kempinski Group.
  • Ensure issuance and filing of documents related to VAT in a controlled and timely manner.
  • Check of VAT clauses in existing & new contracts.
  • Maintain a manual / documentation for VAT treatments for vendors, customers and accounting personnel’s use and providing training / advice.
  • Responsible for performing monthly / quarterly / annual VAT reconciliations.
  • Responsible for performing monthly / quarterly / annual VAT declarations and maintain the filing system for declaration purposes.
  • Regular review, maintenance and update of the transfer pricing documentation
  • Cooperation with the production of the Group Financial Statements and other Group Accounting matters.
  • Education and experience :

  • Degree and / or certification in Finance or Tax or equivalent experience
  • Audit background may be of advantage
  • 5+ years of accounting experience, including experience in a senior position
  • Solid understanding and knowledge of Financial Statements, accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations
  • Exposure to a varied range of tax topics
  • Hospitality or service industry background is highly preferred
  • German business fluent (written and spoken)
  • English business fluent (written and spoken)
