Main Responsibilities : Carry out the daily facility and field activities associated with keeping the site up and running (99.
999% SLA on power and cooling). Management of facility electrical and cooling upgrade projects (fixes, upgrades and improvements), as well as network build projects, for both internal and external customers.
Act as key onsite contact (Single Point of Contact) for GTT NOC as needed for planned works and troubleshooting incidents.
Work to provide solutions to pre-sales & bid management quotations for facility opportunities, working with third-party vendors where necessary.
Work closely with Service Delivery and Sales to deliver new services as quickly and cleanly as possible. Install and commission equipment (including colocation & telecom racks, power / data & monitoring cabling, ODFs & patch panels, network devices, security and CCTV elements, plus any associated peripheral equipment.
Supervise third party suppliers (FLM - First Line Maintenance) contractors including quote and bid management, performing annual maintenances, facility repairs & emergency, regular service reviews and resolving issues.
Investigate root-cause-analysis for incidents (Reason-for-Outage 'post-mortems' ), writing up reports, including making propositions for service improvements and ensuring follow up on the implementation of changes.
Ensure the data center is kept impeccably tidy at all times and any breaches are dealt with in a timely manner. The role includes on-
call (on average one week a month) to provide first line response to facility, field and DC issues after hours. Ideal Candidate Profile : Provide assistance for and act as backup to the onsite field engineer to keep the network running (patch & network installations, troubleshooting) To complete on time, field tasks including CPE installs, card installs, patching, testing using appropriate tools, analysis of test results, and basic problem handling and troubleshooting.
Assist with Construction Works notifications for outside plant (fibre) works. Ensure personnel (staff, suppliers, customers) abide by the relevant processes and procedures (Health & Safety, security).
Ensure all records and inventories are kept up-to-date (budget tracking, network inventories, logistics, site as-builds, electrical diagrams).
Process data to provide reports and statistics to help forecast trends (workload, capacity, usage trends). Ensure management have adequate information and regular updates regarding pipeline projects and current / proposed workload.
Act as key onsite liaison for all audits and statutory regulatory bodies (ISO, PCI, FINMA, Fire Department...). Manage site shipment deliveries (parcels, packages) for GTT as well as for customers (both incoming and outgoing).
Maintain storage areas and stock management. Assist as interface with other departments including regular meetings such as the Change Control board, Infrastructure Log review, weekly Zurich site meetings, bi-
weekly swiss regional meeting, monthly facility review. Assist with general improvement by providing feedback on snags as well as challenging the process and systems and sharing ideas on ways to develop efficiency.

Someone who can show to work independently on power and cooling systems. Good interpersonal and communication skills. Team player Flexible and adaptable Master of English and German both written and orally.
Enthusiastic and highly self-motivated Appreciation of cultural differences and empathy to deal with difficult negotiations / situations.
Willing to travel at short notice. Experience & skills Required Prior experience in Data Center Industry with minimum 4 years working experience in Field Engineering / Operations and Facility Engineering.
Strong knowledge of facility air conditioning systems. Strong experience with electrical systems (PDU, UPS, Generators & Switch Boards).
Competence in electrical circuit diagrams and ability to intepret and update technical documentation. Strong analytical mindset, good troubleshooting methodology, calmness under pressure and attention to detail.
Able to be comfortable designing basic power and cooling toplogies. Knowledge of networking (copper & fibre patching, IP & transmission systems such as IP, SDH and DWDM) a plus but not neccessary.
