You will be part of the Group Media Relations team, reporting into Global Head of Media Relations. Our aim is to ensure and promote a global, positive, coherent, and credible image of LafargeHolcim as the most advanced group in the building materials sector.
The ideal candidate will play a critical role in shaping the way our company is perceived by key audiences. You will drive public awareness by being involved in all stages of the communications process from concept to message development to result-oriented evaluation.
You will act as a spokesperson towards media and work with our diverse country network to ensure effective communication with the media from the Group’s businesses around the world.
Your task includes primarily pro-active media outreach and story pitching, securing regular and high quality press coverage, developing press releases and statements in collaboration with the content team, identifying media stories within the company, support with issues management, media monitoring, media training, deployment of media policies.
Responsibilities
With the Global Head of Media Relations, execute the Group’s media strategy and ensure its implementation, including alignment across the global communications network
Promote the positive image of the group and its top executives across a broad range of media platforms from international to national media outlets and industry trade press as well as lifestyle outlets
As required, deputise for the Global Head of Media Relations
Develop communications material for media trips, roundtables and events
Support media engagement at country level, including materials, which may be used by country operations : press release, press kit, synthetic sheets and presentations.
Provide training on media relations when required
Media monitoring
Participate in the cross-functional projects within and outside of the communications team
Anticipate issues and support country network in case of a crisis
Build appropriate messaging and activities towards the media to respond to the new challenges that will be presented to the group, particularly related to its thought leadership and policy shaping ambitions
Education / Qualifications
Journalism, communications or related field
Experience
Minimum 5 years of experience in business journalism, PR / communications agency or corporate communications
Knowledge & Skills
Negotiation and strategic skills with the ability to work in an evolving environment and balance the needs of various internal and external stakeholders
Enthusiastic, outgoing and positive personality with a great eye for good stories
Relationship builder
A high tolerance for change and pressure
A creative mind who brings ideas to execution
Personal communication skills with the professional stature and presence to represent the group, including strong competencies (writing, presenting, project management etc)
Ability to work with all types of profiles and stakeholders (colleagues of different hierarchical level, business and functional units, other companies, NGOs, governments, think tanks, etc.)
Social Media skills
Flexibility in terms of agenda and responsiveness.

English or German native, English fluency a must, other language a plus
Travel Requirements
upto 10-20% of the time spent travelling internationally
