  • University degree in Agricultural science or any related field
  • Solid experience in agricultural research and development, process technology and / or product development
  • Good understanding of tobacco industry is highly desirable
  • Successful experience in dealing in cross functional environments as well as with external partners
  • Ability to build effective teams and foster a strong collaborative culture internally and with suppliers
  • Strong problem solving and organizational capabilities coupled with proven leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Strong reputation in engaging in proactive behavior and seizing opportunities
  • Fluent in English both written and spoken. If you possess the above mentioned profile then you are the one we want to meet for staffing our Tobacco Biology Team within the Product Research Department in Philip Morris Products S.
  • A., based in Neuchâtel, Switzerland. As a Manager Agronomy Research you will define, develop and drive company-wide Agronomy Research strategy in close partnership with different PMI departments and external contractors.

    Your specific responsibilities will be to :

  • Assist with the development of materials for PMI product portfolio and sustainable tobacco production.
  • Coordinate the execution of technology validation and deployment phases with internal and external partners.
  • Build agricultural practices supporting optimal deployment of new seed technologies.
  • Research and develop innovative agronomy and post-harvest practices in line with business material needs.
  • Set up research strategies and develop experimental designs for advancement of precision agricultural practices in tobacco.
  • Design and coordinate trials to test and evaluate potential benefits of innovative concepts for cultivation, harvesting or curing practices.
