The Position

The revolutionary, Nobel-prize-winning Polymerase Chain Reaction Technology (PCR), quickly replicates a single specific fragment of DNA or RNA to quantities sufficient for accurate laboratory analysis.

PCR testing is in a phase of transformation and has seen huge growth during the COVID pandemic.

We are looking for a seasoned Project Leader focusing on People development to join our team driving Roche’s integrated Molecular Diagnostics PCR testing solutions that empower clinical advancements on our successful platforms such as the Cobas 6800 / 8800.

Role Mission

As Project and People Leader for PCR software solutions, you are a member of the leadership team, you will drive project execution, coach challenges between teams, mentor employees, and help drive continuous improvement at multiple levels across the department.

As a People Leader :

Lead agile instrument software development teams to develop integrated Molecular Diagnostics PCR testing solution

Help drive the instrument software development department on an operative and strategic level.

Development, mentoring, and coaching

Guide team development efforts towards successful project delivery.

Define and sponsor skill development programs in order to maintain / develop capabilities.

Enable and actively implement mentoring, coaching, and personal development within the subchapter and throughout the department.

Responsible for career development strategies and identifying growth opportunities that support subchapter members through transformational leadership.

Enable and nurture a sense of community to make the subchapter a desirable and productive place to work and flourish.

Enabling New Ways of Working

Act as a role model for Agile Leadership and our culture, mindset, and behaviors as defined in our Operating Principles.

As a Project Leader for PCR Software Solutions :

Be accountable for the planning, collaboration, coordination, execution, and delivery of software projects.

Serve as the organizational servant leader and facilitator for solution train events and activities for planning, executing, delivery and improvement.

Manage and optimize the flow of value of the Agile Release using a variety of tools and methods.

Be able to coordinate multiple solution interfaces (both external and internal).

Ensure effective communication and coordination with stakeholders and customers during definition and delivery.

Track the execution of solution epics and capabilities.

Escalate, track and help to resolve impediments and provide input on resourcing to address critical bottlenecks.

Collaborate with Product and Solution Management, Product Owners, and other stakeholders to help ensure strategy and execution alignment.

Innovative and problem-solving (incl. analytical skills, active listening, critical thinking, and process improvements) with a focus on sustainable and scalable solutions

Your Profile

BS / MS degree or equivalent in a related discipline (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Business Administration, etc.)

5-10+ years of industry experience, particularly in embedded software for medical devices

Have successfully led teams in an engineering environment.

Experience working in large, preferably global, software organizations, working across multiple locations with multiple software directors and managers and teams to deliver software releases to market

Hands-on with reporting and status updates, willing and able to create fit-for-purpose and clear presentations and meaningful dashboards

Strong communication and solution-oriented, with the ability to clearly and concisely explain complex organizational or technical problems

Strong interpersonal skills, with proven ability to navigate complex corporate environments and influence stakeholders and partners

Nice to have

Certification in agile such as SAFe, PMI-ACP or CSM preferred

Experience in healthcare systems and data and workflows
