Within this project realistic HB-SASE simulations for Athos will be performed, including the assessment of possible detrimental effects such as phase errors or a non-
uniform energy distribution along the bunch. Moreover, the student will carry out a careful optimization of the chicane delays and other electron and undulator parameters to further improve the FEL brightness for long wavelengths.
Our institution is based on an interdisciplinary, innovative and dynamic collaboration. The contract will be limited to 3 months extendable to 5 months.
