About the role

An outstanding opportunity to become part of the dynamic Regulatory Risk Management EMEA team, working on a number of strategic regulatory topics such as sustainability and digitalisation, with a lot of exposure to senior management and external partners (including policymakers, regulators and clients).

You will help to strengthen our company's market leadership as a risk knowledge company by proactively identifying, assessing and monitoring regulatory risks across EMEA.

You will work closely with various internal functions to develop our positions on these topics for use in external engagement and coordinate the input to public consultations.

You will also support the Senior Management in discussions with European insurance regulators, policymakers, industry associations and clients.

The role reports into Head Regulatory Risk Management EMEA.

Your responsibilities :

  • Monitoring regulatory initiatives with EMEA-wide impact and assessing current and emerging regulatory risks across all three of company's business units;
  • Developing a clear appreciation of the EMEA regulatory risk landscape and becoming an expert of it in the region;
  • Collaborating with internal functions to assess and steer regulatory developments in the region in order to mitigate risks and support business opportunities;
  • Representing Swiss Re in discussions with EMEA regulators (e.g. European Commission, EIOPA, PRA, CAA), trade associations and clients and at industry events;
  • Supporting Swiss Re's Senior Management in their regulatory engagement e.g. accompanying them to the meetings, developing briefing documents;
  • Communicating regulatory developments in the region internally (e.g. through webinars, newsletters and risk reporting);

    Would you like to join our team?

    You have :

  • A university degree or equivalent in Social Sciences (e.g. Economics, Political Science or International Relations);
  • At least 5+ years of professional-level work experience dealing with insurance regulatory topics in a governmental agency, regulatory authority or company;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience in dealing with internal and external partners, including regulators;
  • Excellent communication skills, orally and in writing in English;
  • Ability to assimilate and summarize complex issues clearly and concisely;
  • Strong influencing skills;
  • Stamina and persistence to pursue policy advocacy efforts until the end of the project cycle;
  • A successful track record in working in a diverse multinational environment with teams and stakeholders based in various locations.

  • Able to travel regularly to various locations within Europe (e.g. Brussels, Paris, Frankfurt);
