Commercial Excellence Senior Manager EMEA (m / f / d)

based in Wiesbaden, Germany.

Main Responsibilities :

Strategy and Business Development

  • Work collaboratively across EMEA to strengthen the Division’s strategic growth agenda and ensure Country alignment with strategic priorities
  • Lead the annual EMEA strategic planning process; generate new ideas on how to create growth and value for APOC
  • Act as a point of contact for strategic initiatives within APOC EMEA, providing advice, leadership, and / or support, as required (e.
  • g., Gross Margin Improvement, Marketing Mix Optimization, Sales Force Alignment / Expansion, et al.)

  • Act as a strategic think tank for Senior Management on key business issues and business development opportunities (ex.
  • co-promotions with other manufacturers, partnerships with professional organizations)

    Commercial Excellence

  • Work with Countries to develop / enhance and deploy strategies, processes and systems to support commercial success (e.
  • g., sales force targeting, sales force incentive compensation, sales force size / alignment, promotional resource optimization, pricing framework)

  • Conduct periodic business reviews with the Countries to identify and address business issues and opportunities, and to ensure progress toward business objectives
  • Drive the forecasting process (e.g., Integrated Business Planning, rolling financial forecast) for APOC EMEA in conjunction with the Countries, Finance and Demand Planning
  • Manage the Demand Planning function and forecast accuracy for APOC EMEA
  • Business Analytics and Market Intelligence

  • Lead the monitoring of the external environment, identifying strategic opportunities and competitive threats in EMEA and proactively plan for potential impact on APOC’s business (e.
  • g., translate opportunities into action; propose actions to neutralize threats)

  • Identify key business questions / issues, formulate hypotheses, collect qualitative and quantitative data necessary to evaluate the hypotheses, perform analysis and summarize conclusions / recommendations with minimal guidance
  • Perform complex business and financial analysis (e.g., customer segmentation, marketing ROI, customer promotion responsiveness, etc.
  • that yields actionable insights that increase market share, sales and margin

  • Partner with Global Market Research to define research priorities that will yield actionable insights that help shape strategic direction
  • Develop and optimize appropriate performance metrics and dashboards; produce monthly APOC EMEA KPI Dashboard
  • Demand Planning

  • Manage the Demand Planning function and forecast accuracy for APOC EMEA
  • Your Profile :

  • Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in business or scientific field are required. MBA from top-tier school is highly desired
  • Proven leader with five or more years post-MBA experience in the pharmaceutical and / or medical device industry covering both commercial strategy and commercial operations
  • Top-tier strategy consulting experience (e.g., McKinsey, Bain, Boston Consulting Group) at the Senior Engagement Manager or Associate Principal level preferred
  • Outstanding strategic planning and analytical skills proven ability to identify / define business questions and issues, synthesize information from multiple sources, conduct analysis, formulate actionable recommendations and confidently recommend a point-of-view to senior management
  • Innovative and creative demonstrated ability to leverage consumer insights to identify and evaluate creative ideas, focusing on those that will create sustainable competitive advantage
  • Strong project management skills, with proven ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently under aggressive timelines in a dynamic environment while maintaining strong attention to detail and quick recall
  • Strong knowledge of accounting, finance and statistics concepts (i.e., ROI, P&L)
  • Excellent collaboration skills able to navigate complex matrix within the Division and the broader Abbott organization to ensure alignment of priorities and partnership at all levels of the organization (from Sales Reps to Executive Leadership)
  • Experienced in managing with ambiguity; demonstrated ability to take ownership of problems, exercise sound judgment and independently determine appropriate course of action where precedent may not exist.
  • Adept at clearly defining objectives and priorities, establishing appropriate milestones, and leading cross-functional teams to meet and exceed goals, even under adverse circumstances
  • An approachable and credible communication style, with exceptional verbal and written communication skills; to keep all levels of the organization informed, engaged and motivated
  • Intellectual agility - able to pivot based on shifting priorities and balance multiple projects seamlessly in a fast-paced environment
