Scientific Information Librarian
Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities :
Research and analyse competitor’s product development, activities and clinical trial milestones with new target molecules, indications, drugs, delivery technologies and emerging competitive companies.
Research and summarise scientific literature results in response to requests.
Provide expertise in search methodology and assist stakeholders with search strategies, algorithms and mechanics.
Assess research sources and tools against CSL’s research and operational portfolio.
Develop effective partnerships with stakeholders to develop and deliver proactive and responsive information services in line with current and emerging business development priorities.
Attend stakeholder meetings and forums.
Identify emerging trends and new developments across the pharmaceutical landscape.
Provide subject matter expertise to projects and undertake high level research and analysis to support CSL’s business development portfolio.
Deliver insights on key CSL research portfolios through surveillance of news, scientific literature, clinical trials, conferences and press releases and more.
Proactively engage with customers to understand their information needs and expectations.
Develop and apply a deep understanding of information sources relevant to CSL’s business development priorities.
Source, evaluate and recommend information sources and products for acquisitions and to support CSL staff globally.
Provide copyright and licensing advice.
Support and train CSL staff in accessing and effectively using GLS services and databases.
Participate in the marketing and promotion of the GLS.
Assist in the design and delivery of innovative current awareness services, pushing focused, timely and proactive information to customers to generate insights.
Contribute to the development and implementation of the GLS strategy and participate in GLS projects as required and any other duties consistent with the position as may be required from time to time by Management.
Qualifications & Experience :
Professional qualifications in Librarianship or a combination of five years’ industry experience.
University degree in Library and Information Science or equivalent.
A minimum of two years’ experience in the pharmaceutical or medical research industry.
Highly developed expertise in the provision of research and information services within a pharmaceutical environment with excellent research and analytical skills.
Strong working knowledge of scientific and medical literature research and resources.
Experienced in the practical application of emerging digital technologies for innovative service delivery.
Strong understanding of copyright and licensing.
Demonstrated ability to establish effective relationships in a collaborative and diverse environment.
Responds positively to changing work priorities.
Proven ability to develop and deliver complex and technical resource training programs to stakeholders.
