03.2019 End of contract : 28.02.2020 Deadline to apply : 25.02.2019 Mission The Legal Counsel will support the different functions of the Intellectual Property Section (in relation to other IOC functional areas and affiliated entities, and some of the members of the Olympic Movement) in various legal domains, in particular with respect to copyright, image rights and other intellectual property related rights.
They will review, analyse, process and supervise the various files, contracts and other legal documents delegated by the Head of Intellectual Property.
They would also review, draft and negotiate IP centred / content related contracts concerning the IOC functional areas and affiliated entities, and some of the members of the Olympic Movement. Main responsibilities
Assist the Head of Intellectual Property on various IP and legal related matters, in particular, in regard to IOC functional areas and affiliated entities, and some of the members of the Olympic Movement's matters concerning : o Intellectual property (i.e.
copyright and content related) matters such as the commissioning, acquisition and licensing of content; image rights, music and other clearances;
collective management organisations related matters; etc.; o Other contractual matters; and internal policies, guidelines and regulations.
Assist the Head of Intellectual Property on various matters concerning IP rights' protection, defenses, prosecution and enforcement.
Assist the Head of Intellectual Property advising the IOC functional areas and affiliated entities, and some of the members of the Olympic Movement, on IP centred / content related contracts, their review, draft and negotiation.
Provide practical legal advice to the IOC functional areas and affiliated entities, and some of the members of the Olympic Movement.
Research and draft reports on various legal-related fields.
Follow up and advise on developments and new trends, mainly related to IP and media rights, in relation to the world of sport.
Taking on some of the activities of the Head of Intellectual Property in his / her absence. Academic qualifications and professional qualified experience
Law degree with postgraduate studies in intellectual property (IP), media or entertainment law, and / or contract law; a Master's degree in IP (LL.
M) or related domains will be an added advantage.
5+ years' proven, progressive and relevant experience; Qualified lawyer (member of a bar) will be an added advantage.
Highly proficient in spoken and written English.
Excellent command of French or Spanish will be an added advantage. Additional skills and competencies
