Finance Business Partner (PVPS Rare Immunology)

Primary Duties

This is a truly global finance role within the Patient Value & Product Strategy (PVPS), reporting to the Rare Immunology & Hematology Finance Head.

As a trusted business partner , you will be working closely with the GPTs and brand teams to develop growth strategies for our in-market products associated with the HAE, IG and guiding the development of the pipeline from an early stage through launch and growth phase.

The role requires frequent interaction with the regions and various functions (PDT, R&D, BD, GMS and Legal) as well as the Corporate Finance team in Tokyo.

The person will be part of a small collaborative Finance team based in Zurich. This is an excellent opportunity to work in very rich and diverse portfolio of brands within the rare disease area and springboard to other exciting finance career opportunities across Takeda.

Decision Support

  • Serve as financial representative on cross functional / product teams and proactively provide advisory services
  • Drive data driven decisions on where to invest and where we must manage differently
  • Work closely with MI&I, brand teams and regions to understand market and customer dynamics and the implications for brand strategy and long-term forecasts
  • Business case development (lifecycle management, geographic expansion, pipeline stage ups etc..)
  • Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Analyze periodic franchise results for reasonableness, understand causes for variances from budget or forecast
  • Lead semi-annual financial planning processes (MRP, MYC) for the PVPS Immunology franchise
  • Contribute to a robust Long Range Forecast insights and strategic inputs highlighting not only global brand and franchise financial direction, but long-term risk, ops, resource requirements and decisions that require escalation
  • IR support in quarterly earnings calls
  • Special Projects

  • Support implementation of global systems and process harmonization across PVPS
  • Support due diligence and business development activities as needed
  • Coordination of the internal and external audits
  • Education and Experience Requirements


  • University degree in finance, accounting, business administration or equivalent
  • Combined 7+ years of relevant work experience ideally in pharmaceutical / healthcare industry
  • Hands-on experience in financial planning & analysis, decision support and financial valuations
  • Desired

  • MBA or CPA (or equivalent) is a plus
  • Prior experience in working with plasma derived and or rare disease area is highly preferred
