Following the signing of an agreement with global investment firm KKR for the divestiture of Coty’s Professional and Retail Hair businesses, Wella is on its way to become a fully independent, standalone company with its own management team and operational structures.
At closing, our new Company will have presence in over 100 countries and an estimated annual net revenue of $2.3Bn. Wella and its brands, are and will remain committed to a range of social causes as well as seeking to minimize its impact on the environment.
We’re looking for a Director External Reporting to join our Finance team and be the right hand of the VP Group Controller.
You will be responsible to provide accurate and timely reporting and analysis of group results and prepare consolidated financial statements under IFRS.
You will manage a team of Analysts and ensure timely preparation of monthly / quarterly / annual financial results and management information that supports and influences decision-making across the business in accordance with group guidelines.
Design and lead the group financial reporting process;
Design and lead the group consolidation process, including review and support of the subsidiary reporting packages to ensure a high level of financial data quality;.
With the support of system specialists, lead the development of the consolidation and reporting system and roll-out to group entities;
support further updates and improvements;
Prepare periodic consolidated group financial statements under IFRS and any related filings with regulatory bodies;
Ensure the highest standards of management reporting, prepare key financial analysis and pro-actively bring to management'
s attention key highlights and areas of interest;
Be the primary point of contact for the external auditors and, with their support, ensure high-quality external reporting;
Liaise with other group functions (Tax, Legal, Treasury, etc.) to ensure fluid communication and resulting adequate accounting treatment of key transactions and events;
Create and maintain the group reporting manual and related procedures;
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of IFRS and ensure appropriate understanding throughout the group entities.
Support where necessary statutory compliance and reporting.
Where opportunities arise, involvement in M&A activity including due diligence, preparation of working capital analyses, and subsequent involvement in integration of any new acquisitions.
Support and participate in activities that develop and improve central services at Group level.
Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in an international matrix organization;
Bachelor s degree in Accounting or Finance;Solid experience of consolidation in a large international group;
Working knowledge of best-in-class consolidation & reporting software (Hyperion HFM, SAP BFC, Tagetik, etc.)
Good knowledge about IFRS;
Fluent in English, both written and spoken;
Self-motivated and results-driven;
Ability to work across cultures with all levels of organization as well as with different functions;
Excellent analytical skills;
High level of reliability and personal integrity
Strategic, structured, pro-active and solution-oriented;
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
Ability to manage a small team as well as remote entities.
Accounting qualification (CA, CPA or equivalent) an advantage;
Knowledge of US GAAP
Big-four audit firm experience
International listed company experience (US or Europe)
Working knowledge of any of the following languages would be a plus : French, German, Spanish, Italian, Russian.
